Jaden Hossler was born on July 17, 2000 in Menlo Park, CA. He is the youngest of three boys and has two older brothers. Jaden started playing hockey at a young age with his brothers and father outside. From there, he progressed to join various youth programs before finally signing with the Tri-City Americans (WHL) as a 16-year old in 2016. He was drafted fifth overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Hossler played youth hockey with the Saskatoon Blades before making his junior hockey debut with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL) at age 16. After two seasons with Portland, he joined the Ducks organization as a member of their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Norfolk Admirals. In his rookie season with Norfolk in 2013–14, he scored 30 goals and 53 points in 72 games. The following year, Hossler made his NHL debut with Anaheim and recorded five points in nine games before being traded to Edmonton during the offseason.
